new piece

This piece lives in my studio right now.   I found the old baby food jars at the antique store.  There was probably forty of them in an old cardboard box. The minute I saw them the gears in my head started spinning!  All the jar lids have three small "air" holes punched in them which makes me think they were used to collect fireflys or some sort of insect. The fancy scroll piece was a dumpster diving find.  I think it was used as a retail merchandise rack.  I decided to combine the two and see what I could come up with.  While I was hanging it, the jars were bobbing and swinging just like fireflys dancing in the night.  I love the shadows on the wall!   The original idea was to place an LED light in each jar so it looked like a bunch of jars with fireflys in them.  I might still do that, not sure though.
